A word of encouragement

We’re all currently undergoing a major shift, but we want to encourage you, it’s an opportunity for us to continue to focus on our goals and on the process of getting to the goal. The important thing is how we respond in times like this, because history shows us whenever change happens, (change to a new order of things), it never occurs without some type of chaos or unfamiliarity.

However, we can choose to take on a more proactive and solution based way of thinking rather than a reactive approach and we can also break the worry habit and assume control over our circumstances to create effective change. We encourage you to start by creating new goals. Build new strategies and determination to reach these goals, even if it is one very small goal.

Currently our Board members are working on setting new goals to help us reflect on the months that were and cast our minds forward to get us excited and inspired to the possibilities ahead, while aligning with IWCA globals overall mission www.womenincoffee.org It’s a great time to get clear on our overall purpose and value proposition so that we can improve on performance and serve you the member, to develop a network that embraces diversity and inclusivity.

Here are a few of our board member goals:

  • create a strong sense of community across the coffee supply chain
  • connect, empower and advance women in all aspects of coffee
  • networking, knowledge & education
  • embrace empathy & improve self confidence
  • listen actively, increase self-esteem
  • bring market visibility and promote the coffee produced by women of other Chapters
  • contribute towards changing coffee’s market (value) perception
  • support with strategy, finance and project management solutions
  • offer bilingual skills to connect with Central and South American women coffee producers

Hopefully this will have you thinking about what you can do now in relation to achieving your goal or how you can add value as an IWCA member. This can be around your business, personal development, career, health or education.

Here are some brief tips on goal setting for what you feel you can accomplish as a member of the Australian Chapter.

  • write your goal or goals down – be very specific
  • break the big picture goal into smaller steps
  • set the timeframe you want to achieve your new goal
  • share your goal with someone if you feel comfortable
  • plan your first step towards starting your goal
  • keep working on it or with other IWCA members
  • celebrate

Stay solution focussed and what will happen, all the confusion will start subsiding and the beautiful destiny before you will show up.
Remember to eat healthily, keep exercising and be kind to yourself.
